Kissing the Constitution Good-bye

Supreme Court Makes Giant Step Forward
By C. Eldon McNabb

In 1962, the US Supreme Court made its first major move toward outlawing Christianity in America. On June 19, 2000, the Court made the next major step toward that goal.

An Associated Press article published June 20, 2000 declared, "In a crushing defeat for school-prayer supporters, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that praying in public schools must be private. By a 6-3 vote yesterday, the court barred officials from letting students lead stadium crowds in prayer before football games.

"As the latest word on a politically volatile issue that has bedeviled the nation’s highest court for 40 years, the ruling offered a ringing endorsement of a landmark 1962 decision that outlawed organized, officially sponsored prayers in public schools."

Jesus said, "There shall be signs in the heavens above." In fulfillment of that statement, in February of 1962, there was an eclipse of the Sun, by the Moon, as five other planets lined up in a very close line with them. Just as the "landmark decision" in ‘62 was signaled by that sign in the heavens, so also this major move by the Supreme court was signaled by a very similar alignment of the Sun, Moon, and five planets which occurred just a few days ago, beginning May 5 of this year.

They will not wait another 38 years. They are ready now to press the issue and silence the voice of Christianity in the United States of America and around the world. Oh it will take them a while. But just as the AP article said, "The court’s sweeping language in a Texas case could extend far beyond school sports events – eventually affecting graduation ceremonies, moments of silence and more."

The real pressure should begin by next Spring, and build in intensity for about ten years. About that time, as when Moses and the children of Israel were leaving Egypt, and Pharaoh ordered the death of them all, even so all the Christians, who have not fled with the man of God, shall give their lives to the sword or take the mark of The Beast, or his name or the number of his name. The light of the Glorious Gospel of redemption by the blood of Jesus Christ will be snuffed out, and darkness will settle upon the seat of The Beast, and there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Thirty-eight years ago, as Christianity slept, the Supreme Court launched its attack. Only one small peep was heard from the wide reaches of the Kingdom of Heaven. One small group of about 600 people sent a delegation to protest at the White House: The Church of God, over which Grady R. Kent was the Chief Bishop, whose headquarters were in Cleveland, Tenn. (I thank God that I had the privilege to be part of that protest.) The "ten virgins" had already been asleep for a while, and continue to this day.

What will you do as persecution intensifies? Have you trimmed your lamp yet? If not, when you wake up you may, like the five foolish virgins, not be allowed to go in with Him to the marriage.

Let us hear the words of Zeph. 2:1-3: "Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger."
